Outpost - coliving housing in New York

New York City is one of the great metropolitan cities in the world. If you have been dreaming of moving here, whether to start a career or to continue your education, finding a place to live is one of the first hurdles to clear.

Starting a search for NYC housing can be a bit shocking. You begin with great excitement and expectation, only to soon find that most of the places that are available are way out of your price range. It costs how much to rent a small studio apartment in an old, worn-out building? The sticker shock is real.

This is where the concept of coliving becomes such an appealing possibility. With coliving, you share a rented space with others, therefore bringing down the cost for everyone. Through coliving, you can make your NYC dreams come true at a fraction of the price.

At Outpost, we have mastered the art of creating beautiful, welcoming coliving spaces. We offer an easy move-in process, flexible rental terms, and the opportunity to immediately connect with new people. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of actually making this move, Outpost is the partner you needed to find. Get in touch today to learn more.

The Basics of Coliving

As you prepare for a move to New York City, coliving is an idea to give serious consideration. In this arrangement, you rent a room within an apartment that you share with other renters. This makes rent more affordable and also provides you with an instant community to start building this new lifestyle.

You’ll also find that it’s much easier to rent a coliving space in NYC than it is to secure a lease on an entire apartment. The rental market here is notoriously murky and fees seem to be added at every turn. You shouldn’t have to deal with all of that. Instead, you can rent a room with Outpost, move in, and start living your dream.

Significant Cost Savings

It’s just so expensive to live in New York. The rent is expensive. The food is expensive. Entertainment is expensive. This is a world-class city with endless things to see and do, but none of it comes cheap.

You know this already. You’ve been searching and trying to find a place to live that will suit your starter budget as you get on your feet. And, most likely, you haven’t found much that works. Maybe you haven’t found anything.

Use coliving to solve this problem. By just renting a room, you save a bunch of money that can be used to go out to eat, attend events, and on and on. Your whole lifestyle in NYC will be upgraded when your rent is cheaper.

Avoiding Coliving Drawbacks

There’s no doubt that you can find some unpleasant coliving options throughout the city. Sure, they might be cheap, but they won’t be the kind of life you want to live.

That’s not how it goes at Outpost. We help you control costs, but plenty of amenities are included. Think about things like housekeeping and social events, along with fitness classes and more. We don’t see you as a renter. We think of you as a member and you are treated as such.

So Many Great Neighborhoods to Explore

Once you have decided that coliving with Outpost is the right choice, there’s only one other decision to make - which great NYC borough and neighborhood are you going to call home?

There are so many to choose from, and each offers some advantages. Maybe you want the frenetic, up-all-night pace of Manhattan. Perhaps you want the quieter, residential feel of Queens. Or maybe it’s something in the middle, like what you can find in parts of Brooklyn.

There is no right answer to where you should live in this amazing city. There is no “best” neighborhood. It’s all about you. Find what you want, and what will make you feel most alive and at home. We can’t wait to welcome you as our newest member. Start your application today!
