It is recommended to visit the best restaurants in Bushwick, Brooklyn, to avoid wandering aimlessly looking for a place to eat.
Located on Jefferson Street on the outskirts of Bushwick, Faro has become a key dining destination in the area since opening in 2015. Inside, you'll find an industrial design with metallic accents, wood floors, and white brick walls, fitting perfectly with the area's hipster aesthetic.
Faro stands out for its ability to create homemade pasta using local ingredients in their wood-fired oven. When choosing an appetizer, choose the sesame sourdough focaccia with garlic olive oil. If you live in Coliving in NYC, you must simply visit this restaurant.
The operations headquarters is located less than half a mile from Maria Hernandez Park on Himrod Street, where Coliving can often be found. When you log into Ops, you'll instantly feel at home. This cozy pizzeria features black and white tiles, exposed brick walls, and Polaroids of staff and patrons decorating the bar. You will be pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the atmosphere despite that.
Ops Restaurant is famous in the area for its wood-fired pizza with a wonderful sourdough crust. But you can't limit yourself to ordering just one pizza, as each looks excellent. This place is famous for the best food in Bushwick.
If you are craving to enjoy delicious Ethiopian cuisine, Bunna Cafe is your ideal choice. This establishment is conveniently located on Flushing Avenue, close to the bus stop. The atmosphere at Bunna Cafe fills you with warmth. Soft lighting creates a cozy space suitable for meeting friends and engaging in conversations.
Cafe Bunna specializes in authentic Ethiopian cuisine and is Bushwick's key food. The dishes served are almost entirely vegetarian. This is not only the perfect place for those who love Ethiopian cuisine but also one of the best vegan foods, Bushwick. One of my recommended dishes is Shiro - ground chickpeas simmered with ginger, garlic, and the perfect blend of Ethiopian spices.
Located just a few minutes walk from Green Central Knoll, Roberta's Restaurant attracts locals and visitors alike with its unique style. It's easy to spot this cozy establishment by looking at the bright red metal opening with graffiti on it. Here, you will find a cozy atmosphere with wooden picnic tables and Bushwick late-night food.
Roberta's is famous for its fantastic Italian cuisine in the Bushwick area. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including salads, pasta, and, of course, the irresistible pizza. Their cacio e Pepe ranks as one of the best I've ever tried. Equally impressive was the bee sting pizza, topped with local honey. What would an Italian dinner be without good wine? Be sure to check out the extensive wine and cocktail selection on their drinks list.
But if you want to get a unique food experience, you can visit the food bazaar Bushwick.
On Central Avenue in Brooklyn, you'll find Maite, an amazing restaurant specializing in Colombian and Indian food Bushwick. This restaurant may seem unassuming at first glance, but when you step inside, you will find a beautifully designed space with exposed brick walls and lush plants in every corner.
The cuisine at Maite offers a unique combination of Colombian and European influences. It's important to know that their menu is updated regularly. While they stick to certain staples, most menu changes are based on the availability of fresh ingredients. This is definitely the best food in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Less than a half mile from Maria Hernandez Park is Sally Roots. This Wyckoff Avenue restaurant features bright white walls, a white bar, and a variety of colorful accents, creating a casual and welcoming atmosphere. This is a great place for both locals and visitors to dine. Here, in addition to a variety of dishes, you can find the best Mexican food in Bushwick.
Sally Roots serves authentic Caribbean cuisine, as well as rum cocktails and other refreshing drinks. Their entire menu selection looks amazing. I decided to try their signature dish - Chicken Curry Tamale. The French onion oxtail soup also blew me away. And, of course, I couldn’t ignore their famous rum cocktails, especially hot buttered rum.
Momo Sushi Shack is located steps from the Morgan Avenue subway station. Momo Sushi Shack is housed in a renovated warehouse, where the interior retains industrial floors, wooden picnic tables, and exposed brick walls like many Bushwick establishments. The presence of picnic tables creates an atmosphere of community as visitors can sit next to strangers.
While sushi is a big hit at Momo, their menu also features a few classic Japanese dishes. This place is also famous for Thai food Bushwick. Particularly impressive was the fresh bluefin tuna sashimi, presented in five pieces. I also decided to try the spicy miso ramen, which was perfectly spicy, and I even saved some for myself to take home.
A block from Maria Hernandez Park on Irving Avenue, there is a Venezuelan restaurant that has the best Mexican food in Bushwick.
This family-run restaurant is considered one of the best examples of Venezuelan cuisine in the area, and I couldn't agree more. From the moment you enter, you will feel the warmth and dedication with which the family runs this establishment.
Their menu includes a variety of dishes ranging from arepas and empanadas to classic entrees and salads. I especially enjoyed the cheese arepa, which served as an excellent appetizer. For my main course, I chose the Pabellon Criollo, the national dish of Venezuela, featuring shredded beef, white rice, beans, fried sweet plantains, and topped with Venezuelan cheese.
If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Bushwick, look no further than Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos. It is located on Starr Street and is not just a restaurant but a real tortilla factory. The establishment's interior is bright and colorful, perfectly reflecting the richness of Mexican culture and cuisine.
Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos offers a full range of Mexican dishes, ranging from tacos, taquitos and quesadillas. When I asked the staff what their favorite dishes were because I was having trouble deciding, they suggested choosing the pork quesadilla, chicken taquito, or chorizo taco, insisting that no matter what you choose, you can't go wrong.
On the south side of Bushwick, Le Garage serves authentic French cuisine in a modern, casual atmosphere. Some of the best Chinese food in Bushwick is also worth attention. When the weather is favorable, guests are invited to enjoy outdoor gatherings in the built wooden structure, which adds a special charm to the establishment. Elegant tables with tiny vases and flowers add sophistication to the place.
Le Garage's chefs pay attention to fresh ingredients, which is reflected in the variety and quality of their menu. Depending on the season, they sometimes make changes to the dishes they offer. So sometimes you can even find a Bushwick Halal Food Deli here. Be sure to check out the varied craft cocktail menu to enjoy the experience fully.
Otis is located on Harrison Place, next to the Friends NYC gift shop. What is now a beloved local restaurant operated as a tailor shop in 1914.
The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere thanks to dim lighting. They also provide a lovely garden, which is maintained in the warmer months and heated in the cold, making it attractive at any time of the year.
While the menu may seem relatively limited, the quality of the food clearly outweighs the quantity. Specializing in soups, the restaurant offers a constantly changing selection, including Best Chinese food in Bushwick. Check with your server to see what is currently on offer. Particularly noteworthy are the PEI mussels and lamb shank.
