Spring Activities in NYC

Spring is in full bloom in New York City, and while the pandemic isn't over yet, there's still plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night in Manhattan or daytime activities to enjoy with friends, we've rounded up the best spring activities to celebrate the end of winter. 

Laduree in SoHo

From the front, Laduree might look like another cozy cafe tucked into the scenic streets of SoHo. But out back, this Parisian tea salon boasts a beautiful tree-shaded garden that is especially beautiful in springtime. We recommend heading to the cafe during the day, so you can snap some dreamy photos and take advantage of the sunshine. Grab a cafe au lait, some world-famous macarons and relax in this blooming garden. 

Bronx Zoo 

Head to the Bronx Zoo for a quiet respite from the New York City hustle. With wide-open space, animals on display and spring blooms, this is a perfect day trip for a warm weekend. Be sure to reserve a date-specific ticket in advance and bring your mask and hand sanitizer!

Little Island 

This much-anticipated park on the West side of Manhattan is opening late this spring for all New Yorkers to enjoy. The elevated concrete island sits above the Hudson River and is lush with greenery — making it the perfect springtime oasis to check out. Bring a blanket, picnic lunch and your closest friends to take in this futuristic and peaceful park. 

Mini golf at Hudson River Park 

Whether you're an avid golfer or a novice, mini-golfing at Hudson River is a great springtime activity to do with friends. Located at Pier 25, this professional-grade course features waterfalls, footbridges, sand traps and a view of Lower Manhattan, so you can catch a beautiful sunset over the Hudson while golfing. 

Belvedere Castle in Central Park

The Belvedere Castle, located mid-park around 79th Street, looks straight out of a Disney movie with it's historic stone walls and spiral staircase. This landmark was completed in 1872, and can be seen rising above Turtle Pond with it's elegant pavilions and terraces. Explore the castle inside before enjoying the view from across the pond. This is another spot perfect for a spring picnic — bring a blanket and some treats for a picturesque view of historic Central Park. 

Luna Park at Coney Island

The amusement parks at Coney Island are an iconic New York City experience for a reason — with sandy beaches, delicious carnival food and rollercoasters fit for any age group, Luna Park is a destination to add to your list. The park re-opened on April 9th at 33% capacity, so New Yorkers can return to their favorite rides this spring. Be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time! 

Lola Taverna 

The outdoor setup at Lola Taverna takes the cake when it comes to aesthetically pleasing outdoor dining. The archways of floral arrangements and fairy lights make this a must-see for your next spring date night. Try out their fondue, babaganoush, lamb chop, rice pudding and greek salad.
