The Best Restaurants in Hell's Kitchen

While you might know Hell's Kitchen for it's Times Square-adjacent location, phenomenal happy hour deals and rotating Broadway shows, this mid-town Manhattan neighborhood also offers global cuisine and locally-loved restaurants. Whether you're craving a rich Cuban sandwich or a brimming bowl of ramen noodles, this slice of the city has plenty of culinary destinations worthy of a taste-test. 

Totto Ramen Midtown West 

Ditch the packets of chicken flavoring and go treat yourself to a bowl of hearty and nourishing ramen over at Totto. It's no surpise that the restaurant has multiple locations across the city, as their decadent broth, range of customizable toppings and traditional appetizers make them an ideal spot for anyone hankering for noodles. 

Kochi

Head to Kochi for Korean fare that is Michelin star approved. You can opt for the tasting menu to savor a wide variety of flavors, from seared scallops with tiger's milk to slow cooked pork tenderloin with kimchi. Certainly a pricer meal than some of our other contendors, but the flavors will be hard to find anywhere else. 

Empanada Mama

For those who want an affordable meal that won't sacrifice any flavor or satiety, check out Empanada Mama and pick up a few savory stuffed pastries for just $3.99 each. Whether you like your empanadas baked and filled with shredded chicken or reggaeton style filled with Caribbean roast pork, there's a wide variety of flavors to try. 

Pure Thai Cookhouse

This shophouse-style restaurant serves up authentic Thai fare, from popular street food to the classic noodle dishes that make your mouth water. We recommend the root vegetable puffs, wok ginger curry with calamari or nakorn-patom duck noodle soup.

Tori Shin

Hell's Kitchen is home to one of New York City's best yakitori spots, boasting a robust menu of Waygu, Iberico pork, tenderloin, mentai chazuke and rice dishes. While the prices and selection vary greatly, this is an ideal spot for a celebration, birthday or somewhat swanky date night. We recommend reserving in advance, as tables are in high demand. 

Nizza

No New York restaurant round-up can be completed without an Italian pick—and Nizza proudly takes the spotlight among the eateries in Hell's Kitchen. This spot serves up the area's best pizza and pasta, not to mention the entirely gluten-free menu they have on standby. 

Donburiya

With an expansive menu offering everything from noodles and rice to ishiyaki and donburi, this is the place to be in Hell's Kitchen if you need a Japanese food fix. Donburiya's affordable prices and late night hours make it an ecclectic spot to have a dinner feast or grab a late night meal after hitting nearby bars. 

Guantanamera

Not every bodega or deli can make a sandwich worthy of a recommendation, so when you're in the mood for a hearty and flavorful 'wich, head to Guantanamera. With a menu featuring Cuban sandwiches, paellas and flavorful seafood and meat dishes, there's no shortage of options to feast on for either lunch or dinner.
